Default 'Mock' pebble dash?

We have some bits of wall which are a mixture of a rough finish and flat
render.

The rough finish seems to be more like a very rough gritty paint than a
pebble dash.
The edges are quite sharp, and there are raise peaks, but no large grains
in the finish.

Has anyone come across this, and knows what the wall treatment might be?

Cheers

Probably "Tyrolan finish".
There is a special machine with rubber fingers that flicks cement at the
wall when a handle is turned.

The fingers are actually flat spring steel on a drum, when the drum is
rotated the fingers go into the tyrolean and continue around until they hit
a metal bar, which flicks the loaded material onto the wall
