Two main reasons (as covered in the article above):
A combi[2] can only deliver hot water a a maximum rate dictated by the
power of the boiler and the capacity of the gas meter, and its less easy
to provide a backup should the boiler fail.
No gas here.
There oil and LPG combi boilers available.
