and well also, no city pumbing at all. Any thoughts on this? Thanks
I also want to add a full basement to my house. I can't raise the house in my mind. I already have a half (michigan) basement existing. The floor joists are 8' overhead and the area is 22x14'. The remaining 36' is the basement I want to dig out.
I know it would be cheaper to move and find a house with a basement and whatever, but location is everything. I bought my house on a lake for $85k. My neighbors spent $400k. That's why I want to add space this way.
I know the figures a bit, $15-30k. That's not too bad at all. My question is, how long does it take for everything to be done? I have a 10 month old that I don't want to have live in a hotel or an apartment. I want to put a bar and pool room underground, but I don't want baby girl to call somewhere else home.
Lastly, I want to span the width, 21' with a single steel beam. It's a pool room and I don't want a cue to bang into structure of any sort.
Does anyone know if steel can span 21' freely?

How long?
