Gunner,
I know it has been awhile since I have been around here, but one thing you might consider doing is to make yourself a small secondary tank to house the fuel pump. You then use a cheap electric not in the tank fuel pump to transfer the fuel from the main tank.
Several advantages to this scheme:
1] The expensive pump is always submerged in gas so it stays cool. (Running the tank below 1/4 often shortens pump life.)
2] If you have to swap out the pump in the future, It is small and accessible without all the work to pull the main tank.
3] You can design it so you can use the cheap fuel pump module only rather than the more expensive unit with the float screen etc.
