The description says it's galvanized tin, and what looks like copper
screws. I'd like to do something similar in either copper, tin, or
brass. Any suggestion on where to get this type of metal banding and
screws? Doesn't have to be exact, I'm open to some modificatinos.
Just not sure where to get this type of material.

Thanks
Chris

And... you posted this to a woodworking group for exactly what reason?
Can't these newbies figure out how to use the internet?

Ok - here's my advice - I prefer walnut over most other woods. No
particular reason - I just like the looks of it. It looks like hell when
galvanized, but then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Copper
treatments don't look any much better.

Not the advice you were looking for? Sorry - next time don't post to a
woodworking group.

C'mon now Mike. The item itself is rather interesting. His question may
fit under "hardware". Personally, I wouldn't feel married to the
angle-metal support. And the metal strip could be replaced by darn near
anything--even leather. I see no need for the OP to plagiarize the
original item. There is more than enough room for improvisation,
preferably in harmony with the items destination! Maybe he or she can
carve a line of roses into the leather? Actually, I see lots of room for
carving/personalization!
