Since I have already machined the part I don't want to beat on it, but
it sure got my attention. I was all prepared to fight with it and
listen to screaming, skating, and chatter, and I didn't get any of that.

If it is magnetic it is probably a 400 series stainless. If it is not
magnetic it is probably a 303 stainless.
