When I took it out, I see that the dishwasher was made in 2004. My bad, the house is 18 yo, so I was wrong to think it was as old as the house.
The thing that makes me think it is the touchpad is that the touchpad does not seem to always respond. Also, it is the item with the most wear, so I'd think it is most likily to fail.
