Very common practice. Need a cotter pin? It comes attached to a $500
shaft and sheave.

Also a lot of
the noise was a "flag" wire tag that got sucked into the motor, but it
still has a little bit of whine/howl to it that it didn't have before.
So it'll get run until something actually stops working and then likely
replaced. $200 to get rid of a little noise doesn't sound like a good
deal.
