My mother likes to retell the story about when I was painting her second
story windows. She waved and said good-bye as she was leaving, *and I
turned*--can of paint in one hand, paintbrush in the other, and had a
real moment or two I won't ever forget. I asked her not to do that

It might have been a putty knife and a can of glazing compound, but the
main
elements of the story aren't changed. It was concrete below, so I
would not
have messed up the carpet or anything. ; )
