BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)-- A 21-year-old Bridgeport woman was charged
with killing the father of her child after pinning him against a wall
with her car in May.

Police say on May 18th, Cherelle Baldwin intentionally accelerated her
red Pontiac and pinned Jeffrey Brown against a cinder block wall with
the car.

Police responded to the scene on Ash Street around 8:42 AM and found
Brown in between the car and the wall. Medics tried to unsuccessfully
revive him.

Brown was found outside the car with a leg injury. Baldwin has a child
with Brown and the incident is viewed as a domestic homicide.

Police concluded a three week investigation with assistance from a
Trumbull police accident reconstructionist.

"Detective Heitor Teixeira interviewed a large number of people to get a
clear understanding of what happened, and work by the Crime Scene Unit
and accident investigators was key to getting to the truth. It was
thorough and labor intensive police work," said Police Chief Joseph
Gaudett Jr. "I also want to thank Trumbull police for their assistance."

The reconstruction showed that Baldwin drove 100 feet accelerating and
made no attempt to brake. There was also indication that her leg injury
was from the impact with the wall while her foot was on the accelerator.

Baldwin's bond was set for $1 million and is expected to be in court on
June 11th.
