There are also propane freezers too.

Yea -

Because propane is safe enough to be used as the heat source in domestic
(and even mobile!) absorption refrigerators, but not safe enough to be
used as the working fluid (R290) in a regular (vapor compression)
domestic A/C system.

Makes sense to me...
