Another, oddlly enough, is motor oil gone bad. Many years ago, some engines
didn't run on cheap oil. Change the oil, and use a good brand like Penzoil
or Castrol. A couple vehicles ago, Castrol was the only brand that quieted
the piston rod knock for more than a couple days.
