COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho -- Idaho State Police tracked down and arrested
the father of a 2-year-old boy who was found after he wandered into a
Coeur d’Alene bar alone.

The boy walked into Sully’s Pub and Grill on N. Government Way around
12:30 p.m. Sunday.

He told officers his name was Jake Edwards, and that his dad’s name is
Jesse Edwards. The boy was wearing an inside out pajama top,
sweatpants and boots, and a diaper that looked like it had not been

Officers contacted 36-year-old Jesse Edwards of Hayden by cell phone,
and were able to confirm Jake Edwards is his child.

Police met up with Jesse Edwards at the Hayden Wal-mart. Officers said
he appeared to be under the influence of a substance.

Authorities said Edwards offered no explanation about how he became
separated from his child.

Edwards was placed under arrest for child endangerment and taken to
jail.

The child’s mother has not made contact with Idaho State Police.
