If they have the holes ready drilled, then yes, typically 180mm iirc.

I've seen 180mm mentioned elsewhere in conjunction with mixer taps, so it does look as if this is the standard. The tap I'm considering is "Cambridge Bathroom Taps - Traditional Chrome Bath Filler Mixer Tap with Handheld Shower" from iBath on Amazon,co.uk. (Sorry, I can't add a link right now, as I'm using a relative's laptop and cannot get to grips with the ruddy awful mousepad!!!)
