The period I'm interested in is the 1940's and 1950's. *Shortly after that
era they started taking all the fun out of it with plastic parts and low

As I'm sure you already know, Erector Square was/is located in New
Haven, CT. They made American Flyer trains there as well.
I went to school with A.C. Gilbert's grandson, Neil who became a
patent attorney. Very nice person.
