Gat a wasp sting yesterday in the web of my hand betweeen thumb and
forefinger. Minor pain, nothing else. This am woke up with swelling
on back of hand to where the veins and arteies are not visible,.
redness, and somewhat reduced ability to curl fingers due to the
swelling. Too early for dr office to be open. Any home remedys?

We average 1 sting (wasp or bee) per 2 people per year, and always
have antihistamine pills on hand: one or two Benadryl as soon as possible
can do no harm and seem effective, we have found.

Just one time I happened to be seeing the doctor for something else
after a sting on the back of the hand. He noticed it was so swollen
I could not make a fist, and became very concerned about tissue
damage if the swelling did not reduce soon: but it did (perhaps
with extra antihistamine tabs.
