It isnt average earnings that determines who will buy tickets to an
olympics.

When tickets for similar events sell for 4 figures on the black market,

I doubt they do when the event starts with unsold tickets.

what's wrong with pricing the best seats at that price in the first place?
At least the revenue goes back to the taxpayer rather than into the
pockets of some scumbag tout.
