There are 1.5 million more unemployed than in January, 2009.

And there are 8,245,105 more people in the US.

Why don't you look at the number EMPLOYED?:

Ja sure there are more people employed, but the economy is not growing at a rate as high as the rate of new people entering the work force. If we keep at this rate the number of unemployed will keep rising.

Here's private nonfarm employment:

Here's total government employment:

Whoop! You mean, private employment has gone up -- as has total
employment -- while government employment has gone down??? What's a
Republican to do??

Easy vote for someone besides the incumbent.

That won't change the fact that total employment has indeed gone up.

Total employment in January 2009 was 142,187,000. In May 2012 it was
142,287,000. In between, it fell to under 140,000,000 in July 2009 and
remained under that level until September 2011. Meanwhile, the labor
force participation rate has fallen steadily since January 2009, from
65.7% to the current level of 63.8%
