If you're talking tool steel, with enough heat you will anneal it. What do
YOU define as "strength"...tensile, compressive, shear???
On a slightly more exotic metal...
I recall Kelly Johnson saying that the service life of the Blackbirds
(YF12 / SR71) should be about infinite.
They annealed themselves every flight!
