I have wondered about the wisdom of calling someone a liar or
otherwise insulting them in an open forum. Most likely nothing will
happen but everything is public and the offending party can be tracked
down.

If I were to do something like that I would be looking over my
shoulder.

All manner of things similar have happened through the wonderful Internet.
I would imagine that there have been a few dustups and face to face
confrontations, and perhaps even some true violence. It just hasn't hit the
airwaves yet.
