Scamming the rubes has always been and will always be one of the great
American pastimes. The fact that no AC heater you can plug into a
standard wall socket will ever deliver more that 1500W of energy, be
it radiant, convected, quartz, or magic Amish whatchamacallits, is
beyond the grasp of almost all Americans. Much like fruit juicers and
