I think you're making all this up.


Most, if not all, trolleybuses have a small battery pack on board for
moving the vehicle round the depot or travelling along short sections of
road where there is no overhead supply for some reason. Most of them can
travel up to a mile at about 20mph, which is enough to bypass roadworks
or a broken down bus.
