A midway option is a mechanical wind-up timer such as I installed on a
hose bib for the g.f.'s flower bed. Turn it on for 20 minutes or 2 hrs
as needed and it turns itself off. No batteries to wear out, no AC to
run, no controller to program, and no worries about forgetting to turn
it off, or not being home to turn it off.
