Efficiency is guaranteed for educe by less than1%/year. There are
40yr old ones running @ 80% of original output.


Were thay mass produced and made down to a price?


Of course they were.
Look at all the other mass produced electronics, its cheap and
reliable.


PV arrays 40 years ago? I would say it was a niche market and nothing
like the cost cutting that is going on now.


And the 40 year old ones didn't use kead free solder. (ducks)
