So, other than being a fun project what is the benefit VS cutting it out of
sheet with a jig saw?

P.S. If you are going to do a bunch of them could you make a mold out of
POP? They pour lead in POP molds and get dozens of runs before it breaks
down. I know Aluminum is hotter, but...
