Default Spook kills his son by repeatedly throwing on ground and stuffingin trash bin afterwards

A man accused of killing his 3-month-old son by repeatedly throwing him
to the ground pleaded guilty today to a charge of aggravated murder in
Franklin County Common Pleas Court.

Quindell K. Sherman, 20, faces a maximum penalty of life in prison with
no chance of parole when he is sentenced May 3 by Judge John P. Bessey.

Sherman killed Jayden Mitchell on Nov. 16 during an argument with the
boy's mother. Police said he threw the infant on the front porch at 1121
E. 16th Ave., then hurled him into the middle of the street. He threw
the child on the ground at least one more time before running away and
hiding with the infant in a trash bin.

The boy's mother, Sonia Mitchell, asked the judge to "put (Sherman) away
for life so that he spends his days suffering the way we have to suffer."

Sherman showed no emotion and did not make a statement in court, other
than answering "yes, sir" or "no, sir" to questions from the judge.

Bessey could sentence Sherman to life in prison with a chance of parole
after 20, 25 or 30 years. Prosecutor Ron O'Brien said the state is
requesting life without parole.

Sherman agreed to the guilty plea at the time of his indictment with the
understanding that prosecutors wouldn't seek the death penalty. O'Brien
said the family is opposed to the death penalty, but he based his
decision on a review of Sherman's "terrible childhood," which could be
presented as a mitigating factor to a jury contemplating a death sentence.
