But since they gave you back your money you are on your
own now in a new game which will cost you out of pocket...

You could have gotten to exactly the same place buy
selecting and purchasing your toilet like you did and
calling a plumber to have it done right the first time and
you wouldn't have wasted all your time and energy dealing
with your "bargain" install from the home center...

Chalk it up to a lesson learned I guess and move on...
