You pull the john or live with the mistake you made. Not pretty.

yeah had a feeling this would be the case. not too happy with trying
to pull the toilet. messy job, etc.

Turn off, and disconnect the water. Flush it with the water off to clear most of
the water. Unbolt it and lift it out. Or do it poorly.
