Default Things stored in my loft get very smelly - is there a way to stop it?

Rob K wrote in message ...
I store lots of stuff in my loft eg , suitcases, out of season clothes;
packing materials eg bubble wrap, cardboard boxes etc, polystyrene chips

etc
etc.

When I bring things down to use, I notice they smell really musty and there
isnt much I can do to remove the odour. All the packing materials get
tainted with this odour so it isnt very nice for the person receiving the
package.

There are no damp problems, leaks or anything else. And there isnt much of
an odour in the loft when I go up there. Is there anything I can do to
prevent it?

Thanks

Rob

Take notice of this warning. Your loft is inadequately ventilated so that
the moisture released by everyday life in your house which percolate through
the ceilings is not being cleared by draught through your roof space.
Imagine what this is doing to your roof timbers.
