If you lived in a small town that would not be the case. Locally, our
USPS folks could be the models for friendly and efficient customer
service. Community character seems to modify the behavior of service
workers a lot. Just the way it is, always will be, likely.

You still have a postoffice? They closed most of the small ones around
here and then with total bureaucratic efficiency they only staff one of
the three service counters at the main postoffice.
