Have you ever tried to run an internet based business from a rural
area where it can be a struggle to get 255kbps, even when you are
paying for a 5:1 contention ratio?
Have you got any ancient phones in your house? If not, have you tried
disconnecting the bell-wire at your BT master socket? We're some 2 miles
from the exchange, and speed went from 3.5-4 Mbps to 7.6Mbps (raw line
speed) when I had that done.
