If you replace that half of the gate next to the house with a fixed
gate that doesn't have to ove, you could easily attach it to the house
on the one side and surface mount the post on other side to the top of
the concrete pad. Don't make it overyly complicated, that way you'll
have more time to do other chores.

I like this idea. I've only opened the left hand side a few times
since we sold the trailer.

And there are 1 or 2 other things that need doing.
