and given government regulations nearly believable

As trolls go it was pretty lame, and it tells us more about paranoia
among the populace than it does about regulations.

*However, I have seen some fire extinguishers that were very ordinary,
but with flammability ratings.

Would you want the health dept. to stop inspecting local restaurants? *How
about no more building codes? *Or no noise bylaws so your neighbor can blast
his stereo all night long?

It is the nature of bureaucracies to come up with ever more rules and
regulations, and some of them are bound to be poorly written if not
downright pointless. *But that doesn't mean they are *all* worthless, some
of them are pretty good to have around. *And much of that warning label
silliness isn't due to regulations, it's because some lawyer stung a
manufacturer's insurance company for umpteen million dollars and now
everybody has to have a label warning us not to take the toaster oven into
the bathtub.

I've always kind of liked this one:

"New Yorkers cannot dissolve a marriage for irreconcilable
differences, unless they both agree to it."
