Feel the cylinder - it should be hot all the way down. Hot water rises
to the top, so if only the top part of the cylinder is hot, the bath
water will run cold as soon as that is used up. [Of course, if the
cylinder isn't large enough the water will run cold when it's all used
up even if it *is* hot all the way down!]
