Yup. At Michigan Tech there was "communications option" and "power
option" differing in a few courses, but the degrees awarded were the
same: BSEE (or MSEE).

You went to Tech by heck??

I spent a bit of time there..Houghton.

Ja.

My family was from Houghton, and Calumet. I lived in Hancock until I
was 9 or so.

The family home was right across the street from the science buildings
as I recall.

When they added to the campus about 20 yrs ago..they took out the big
old 3 story (plus basement) home and about 20 other buildings and homes.

Grandpa ran the Swift Meats distributorship for nearly 50 yrs up there.
I took a few classes at the Tech after I came home from overseas.

Had a date with a girl from Calumet. We went up there to pick her up
at her home. She didn't say a word on the ride back. As we were
coming down the hill into Hancock, I said, "Paula, you're awfully
quiet!" She said, "I vas listening, eh. Holy gow, haf yoos kies
godda ACK-sent!"
