I opened up the back. I observe the following:

1) The condenser fan is running
2) The compressor (big heavy black part with copper pipes going in and
out of it) is quite hot to touch and is seemingly not running.

Have you had any power glitches yesterday? Anyway, if the compressor is
overheated, unplug the fridge, and put a fan on the compressor.
it may take several hours to cool off, it is practically a block of
steel and copper. When it is relatively cool to the touch, plug back
in, and see if the compressor will start. Sometimes they can get a
hard-start after a momentary power blip, and then overheat while trying
over and over to restart. Not sure if that can still happen on the
computer-controlled ones.

It may also be a locked-up compressor, a bad start cap or starting
relay, lost the refrigerant or something else. Also, you can check all
connections between compressor and associated electrical wiring.
