That life expectancy statistic you got there is misleading. It is
derived from the number, from the moment of birth when they are most
vulnerable which skews the bell curve to a much lower age. Infant
mortality however is easily compensated for by vigorous breeding.


Right. Two who live to eighty won't have nearly as many offspring as eight
who live to twenty.
