Why? It doesn't make any difference to me because they were going
outside, but it made me curious.


I don't know but if I had to guess, it was due to liability. They
could be in for a pretty penny if that failed in a wall somewhere.
If it fails outside, so what?

ANything to do with Potable vs Not Potable?


PVC is OK for potable water. CPVC is rated for hot water. PVC is not. Perhaps
that has something to do with it.
