Is there any way to deter mice from coming in a house (besides cats - we
have four of them)?

Find, and plug, the holes through which they are entering. And don't leave
food out for them.

Mice can get in from extremely small entrance

Yes, I know that. You need to find them and plug them.

Also, how do we get rid of the mice already in the
house? Thanks.

Nothing beats the good old Victor snap trap. The best bait is a fresh

raisin,
crushed onto the bait pan. They can't tug it off without springing the trap.

Good suggestion - but they keep coming in - even though I have four cats.

That's because you haven't plugged all the entrances.

Your cats are all indoor cats, aren't they?

Yes.

Seems to me your choices are limited to:
a) get a few outdoor cats
b) find, and plug, the openings that the mice are using to get in
c) stop leaving food for the mice -- this includes any human or pet food in
any container that a mouse can chew through
d) live with the problem.

OK, thanks for the advice..........
