Bare in mind it's illegal to resell gas for more than you paid for
it unless you're a licenced gas supplier (UK law, not EU law).
This was mainly to stop landlords profiting from energy supply to
their tennents.

Also note the VAT rate which can be passed on is fixed at 5%,
regardless of how much VAT you paid on the fuel originally.
So if you resell gas from commercial premises where you buy
it at a VAT rate of 17.5%, then you will have to sell the gas
for less than it costs you.

You can also split the standing charges at a pro-rata rate
between all the users.

You had me worried there for a minute as my business supplier has been
charging me 5% VAT since day one but I see that business users of small
quantities of gas & elec have their supplies rated at 5% too, the limit
is 4,397kWhr/mth gas, lower for elec at only 1,000kWhr/mth. (VAT Notice
701/19).
