Someone else (David Lesher) mentioned wax rings. Those probably aren't
compatible with boiling water, either, even if they're not made of
real wax. Has anyone tried melting one?


Aw, come on Larry.
Was no more than ~120 F for about 10 seconds.

I'm at 230 ft ASL so this is not 'boiling' temperature by a long shot.
