I've not had any trouble with Scottish Power and they (for me) are
one of the cheapest suppliers (standing charge, online, paperless,
fixed monthly direct debit). Noticeably cheaper than BG.


For me they are also the cheapest.

In terms of 'getting what you pay for' the key issue is the reliability of
the supply, and that is determined by the local 'PES'.

EDF were obliged to send me £50 because the supply had been so irregular.
There is minimal incentive for them to provide a more reliable supply.
