And why do you think "herds of cyclists" will do so too?

Because the events surrounding the creation of the moderated group, and
the events subsequent to that creation have shown a herd mentality among
the cyclists. The bleating by the cyclists post group creation has been
astonishing, as has the character assassination of existing committee
members. It's notable that each of the three wishing to become committee
members themselves has been prominent in the attacks, but they've had
considerable support from other urc regulars.
