If you can catch it, or the re-run, be sure to see Steve Wynn (Vegas
Casino Owner) on Fox News Sunday, and his comments on the economy.

He was on "60 Minutes" back in July. Here is a link to it.

One very sharp guy!
Pity about making his living from other people's despair, though.

He wasn't stealing it, like the government does. If you don't want him
to have your money, don't go gamble in his casino, dummy.

Casino owners, lottery proprietors, and drug dealers are all at about
the same moral level, for roughly the same reason. It isn't the people
who can take it or leave it that have the problem, and by taking their
money, these folks are selling despair.

People have different opinions about the social utility of these places,
and that's mine.

Cheers

Some of us go to Vegas just to see the stage shows, and visit good
restaurants. I also like to watch little old ladies "pumping" the
slots... hilarious ;-)

(I don't gamble, at all.)

I go to Vegas for the same reason to vacation as any other place.
Sunbathing, swimming, visiting local scenery. Bar hopping, shows,
going to the top of the Strat., people watching in front
of the Venetian, watching the Bellagio fountains, going to strip clubs,
shopping. I also go to movies. I also get my mind on nice sunsets and the
open desert. Only place you can go and be near thousands of people then go out and be the only
person in 5 miles. I am relaxed in Vegas, fells like a second home, but I used
to live 130 miles away.

I always saw gambling as loosing my money. I can have some fun sometimes,
but that loosing money is always in my thoughts. $20 is my usuall limit
for the whole stay.
