Now we have a totalitarian little (literally) *******.

Oh come on, are you really saying GWB didn't have his own ideological
and authoritarian agendas? Just because you happened to agree with them
doesn't make him any better than the current incumbent and at least, so
far, Obama doesn't appear to be a shill for big oil.

Doesn't it bother you that Obama is a shill for socialism and wussism
?:-)

Not as much as GWB bothered me. Socialism in the way I understand it,
created many things that are accepted as being good and worthwhile here
in the UK (health service, social security, good and 'free' at source
education etc. etc..)

Wussism I suppose is just another way of saying non aggressive?

I guess that just balances out the aggressive nature of GWB's
administration. I've yet to see compelling evidence for Gulf War II
apart from the need to secure energy resources and settle a few old
scores. Pretty much every house of cards that was constructed to justify
it by the politicians there and here has been demolished.

Of course, my opinion of GWB and Obama has been shaped by the reporting
I see here in the UK and my opinion of them won't matter one iota to a
US citizen.

I don't remember (I'm 'only' 40, I don't remember as many as you do Jim)
another US president, Rep or Dem, who attracted as much bad press
outside the US as GWB did.

I'm fairly middle of the road as far as politics goes but one thing I do
believe is that all politicians should be held up to scrutiny and
ridicule as often as possible and never allowed to forget who employs
them because they're almost all slimy and untrustworthy.
