According to Milton Friedman we pay 10% of GDP for compliance with
regulations*. For industries like manufacturing it must be greater than
average.

(* Plus 40% in taxes, hence 50% capitalism and 50% socialism, and that's
before all this.)

But beyond minimum wage there are union demands. At GM the guys who drive
the cars from the factory to the parking lot made 110k.
