Given a choice, I'd use tongue and groove.

Tongue in the wood, groove in the plywood, forget the biscuits except
at the corner miters in the wood.


I may do that next time. I'll have to play with T&G techniques. How
would you cut them? Using a shaper is cheating. ;-)
