Alternative Energy Sources ( Wind, solar UPS etc)
This product must be connected to a Pure or True Sine Wave 230 Vac
supply. It musr not be connected to devices giving a modified sine
wave or quasi sine wave 230 Vac such as most inverterws to solar
panels, wind turbines, water turbines or batteries. This also applies
to battery powered UPS inverters.
Either of these power sources will cause over heating which will
damage the product.
So much for home made electricity !

[Sorry about the blank post - finger trouble!]

Inverters *do* exist which give a pure sine wave output - like the one in my
Honda generator. So 'home made' electricity needn't be ruled out if you use
the right equipment.

Besides which, not everything is as fussy as that ('though some electronic
devices are) - and you can always use battery powered smoke alarms - the
batteries last for several years, and they bleep at you when running low.
