Since we are finally on topic:

I'd like to figure out how to create (better yet buy as I'm very busy
at work) a moderately priced optical or laser measuring system that
would allow me to quickly measure the lips of a drill so I could
quickly dial in equal length cutting lips on a Darex M5 without having
to waste so much time with trail and error. I would like to do this
without having to remove the drill from the chuck.. I think the same
need to quickly measure the tool you're making exists for most semi
portable cutter grinder type tools.
