Best? A cat chained into the pan, or one tied to your monitored alarm
system, so they call you.


I have one of the $10 ones from HD. It's a battery powered plastic
box with alarm and contacts on the bottom. I have it placed near my
water heater. For that application, I think it's fine, because it's
likely someone will hear it in time to avoid serious damage.

But I'm sure you can do better and depending on the application, it
could be well worth it. For the attic AC, I think I've seen systems
where there was an auto shut-off of the AC. In fact, you would think
this would be standard reqt now. That, along with 2 drain lines
would be my preferred solution, as it doesn't rely on anyone being
around to take action.
